Blood is thicker than water?

If a stranger told me "this is your life, you decide" I would totally understand that.

Because stranger will not know the whole story and stranger wont have that emotional bonding to go any extra miles with you.

But if your sibling says "I'm so used of being alone, asking a help from my family would be the last resort" it says a lot about the family bonding. One couldn't even confide to you.

I totally agree if that no one should interfere with anyone's life. On a ground that no one is at risk.
However should things go super wrong, and it's risking not just one life but many then someone needs to step in, point out the truth (no matter how hurtful it is) and if it's necessary, shake some sense. Then only you can say "now you decide".
